Who is Aamir Khan?
Aamir Khan is an Indian film actor, producer, director, screenwriter, occasional singer and founder-owner of Aamir Khan Productions. Aamir Khan appeared in the role of a child artist in his uncle Nasir Hussain's film Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973) and eleven years later Khan's career began in the film Holi (1984) with his cousin Mansoor Khan in the film Qayamat He had his first commercial success for Qayamat Tak (1988) and won the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award (Filmfare Award for Best Debut Male Artist) for acting in the film. After the last eight nominations, during 1980 and 1990, Khan received the first Filmfare Best Actor Award for Raja Hindustani (1996), which was his biggest commercial success to date.
Aamir Khan was born in Bandra's Holy Family Hospital, Mumbai, India, to a Muslim family who had been active in the Indian Mosan picture for decades. His father, Tahir Hussain, was a filmmaker while his late uncle, Nasir Hussain, was a filmmaker as well as a director. He is also the guardian of the former President of India, Dr. Zakir Hussain, and the second nephew of the Minister of Minority Welfare of India, Dr. Najma Heptulla.
Aamir Khan came on screen in two roles as a child. At the age of 8, he starred in the musical film Yado Ki Baaraat (1973), directed by Nasir Hussain. In the same year, he played a role in a drunkard made by his father. Khan later took J.B. to receive elementary education. He started going to Petit School and later he got his education from St. Ann's School in Bandra till 8th standard. And studied 9th and 10th from Mahim's Bombay Scottish School.
Khan had a lot of interest in tennis since childhood, he loved playing tennis a lot. His teachers have always said that Khan's focus is less in studies and more in playing. He got his 12th education from Narsi Monji College, Mumbai. Khan termed his childhood as 'difficult' due to financial troubles.
He then appeared in several films in the early '80s and '90s: Dil (1990), which was the biggest commercial hit of the year, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi (1991), Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander (1992), Hum Hai Rahi Pyar Ke (1993) (for which he also wrote the screenplay) and Rangeela (1995). Most of these films were critically and commercially successful. Other successful films were Andaz Apna Apna, co-starring Salman Khan. The film was unsuccessful at the time of its release but later made a good situation.
Aamir Khan only does one or two films a year, which is a different thing for a mainstream Hindi cinema actor. His only release in 1996 was the commercial blockbuster 'Raja Hindustani' directed by Dharmesh Darshan opposite Karisma Kapoor. Aamir Khan also played tennis at the state level and he was more interested in tennis than studies. Aamir Khan had to go through a poor financial situation as a child, because his father's films were not running, due to which he was always in danger of being fired from school due to lack of fees. At the age of 16, he acted in a 40-minute silent film directed by his school friend Aditya Bhattacharya. Aamir Khan's parents did not want to allow their son to appear in films due to his own poor experience and instead he used to motivate his son to become an engineer or a doctor.
Aamir Khan wanted to work in films against the wishes of his parents, so he joined a theater group called Avantar where he participated in backstage activities for a year. He made his debut on stage with a Gujarati drama "Saffron Bina" at Prithvi Theater. After this, Aamir acted in two Hindi dramas and an English drama.
